About us

Welcome to the humble smithy, located in the heart of Stellenbosch. This is where historical reproductions are produced with great care taken in delivering a product that not only looks like the real thing, but also performs like it. This of course can only be achieved with the proper research of both literature and actual antique pieces.
Nostro Titus spends most of his time behind the anvil, hammering away on a project or experimenting with various theories on historical sword production. At times he is on one of the local mountains collecting iron ore or natural water stones at secret locations he shares with few. He also conducts research on the arms and armour collection at the Cultural History museum, currently stationed at the Van Riebeeck castle. This ongoing research provides valuable insights regarding the physical properties of weapons as well as the metallurgy involved.
Nostro is also a certified fencing instructor (in all of the three weapons) and teaches at the University of Stellenbosch Fencing club as well as some of the local schools.
He is also a part time jeweller, but insists that it is merely a hobby. His other interrests include archaeology, geology, astronomy, theoretical physics and writing music.
